Sonic tops favorite game character poll

LONDON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog has been voted the favorite video-game character of British players, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Coming in at No. 2 in the poll of U.K. gamers, which was compiled to coincide with the start of the London Games Festival this week, was Super Mario, followed by Lara Croft at No. 3, Donkey Kong at No. 4 and Pac Man at No. 5.

Rounding out the list of favorites are Link at No. 6, Max Payne at No. 7, Pikachu at No. 8, Niko Belic at No. 9 and Blanka at No. 10.
