Attorney Terry Jacobs, who is representing state trooper Sgt. Timothy W. Moore, has asked Pike County District Judge Kelsey E. Friend to release all police recordings related to Moore's July arrest to prove his targeting allegation, the Appalachian News Express reported Friday.
"One, we believe that Sgt. Moore was a target by the Pikeville City Police Department and there may be certain information transferred by radio that would validate that," Jacobs told Friend Tuesday. "And, two, we want to discover whether or not any complaints were called in involving Mr. Moore that day."
Jacobs said his client was arrested by police shortly after getting into a verbal fight with a city police officer while exiting an Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center concert.
Pikeville police charged Moor with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest for the July 20 incident and is to go to trial Dec. 15, said the News Express, which didn't indicate whether the 10-year department veteran was on duty or not.
