Andy Dick to wear alcohol bracelet

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- U.S. comedian and actor Andy Dick has been ordered by a court to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet for one year, People magazine reported.

Dick, best known for his roles on TV's "NewsRadio" and "Less Than Perfect," pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and marijuana possession in a Murrieta, Calif., courtroom Friday.

Two other charges -- public intoxication and possession of Xanax without a prescription -- connected to his July 16 arrest were dropped as part of the plea deal, People said.

A police statement issued shortly after Dick's arrest outside the Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar in Murrieta claimed the 42-year-old performer "walked up to the 17-year-old female victim, grabbed her tank top and bra and pulled them down and exposed her breasts." Police described him as "extremely intoxicated" at the time of the alleged incident.

"Andy is a great guy. People don't really know him and we are considering this matter closed," his lawyer Jeffery Rubenstein told the magazine. "He's looking forward to putting this matter behind him."
