Matt Lucas joins 'Krod Mandoon' cast

NEW YORK, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- British comedian Matt Lucas has signed on to co-star in the fantasy-comedy series "Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire," Comedy Central said.

Best known for his work on the sketch comedy series "Little Britain," Lucas recently joined the "Mandoon" cast, which includes Sean Maguire, India De Beaufort, Steve Speirs, Kevin Hart, John Rhys-Davies, James Murray and Marques Ray Mascarinas.

Currently shooting In Budapest, Hungary, the series is slated to premiere next spring, the network said.

"After a long and extensive search, we are thrilled to lock in the perfect cast for this unique series that is best described as 'Monty Python' meets 'The Princess Bride,'" said Lauren Corrao, president of original programming and development for Comedy Central. "The talented actors bring their distinctive voices to these well-crafted, hilarious characters who inhabit the world that is 'Krod Mandoon.'"
