The 72-year-old actor's movie credits include the cinema classics "Rebel Without a Cause," "True Grit," "Apocalypse Now" and "Easy Rider." He was most recently seen in the films "An American Carol," "Swing Vote" and "Elegy," and will soon headline a television series based on the big-screen drama, "Crash."

The BBC said the Cinematique Francaise, France's national film library, has put together an exhibit celebrating Hopper's life and artwork, including his photos and paintings, to mark his latest accomplishment.

The Hopper show is scheduled to run through Jan. 19.
