UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Oct. 14 (UPI) -- NBC says it has erected a tree house in New York City to promote its new action-adventure series "Crusoe."
The tree house, which will house an actor playing the Crusoe character through Friday, will be visible 24 hours a day, live at the corner of Broadway and 51st Street in New York and on the Web site www.savecrusoe.com.
Philip Winchester, who plays Crusoe on the show, and Tongayi Chirisa, who plays Friday in the series, are to make guest appearances Thursday at the tree house.
"'Crusoe' explores an extraordinary fantasy landscape of a deserted island. This tree house is our effort to bring a piece of the remote outdoors adventure to the United States," Adam Stotsky, president of NBC Entertainment Marketing, said in a statement. "We couldn't think of a better place to draw attention to the Crusoe story than smack in the middle of New York City, and the online elements will allow us to share the experience with users nationwide."
The show is to debut Friday.
