LOS ANGELES, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Actors Hugh Laurie and James Denton are among a group of TV stars who have recorded a musical album for charity in Los Angeles, one member says.

"Heroes" actor Greg Grunberg said he was joined by Laurie of "House" and Denton of "Desperate Housewives" in creating Band from TV and the band's debut album, "Hoggin' All the Covers," the "Entertainment Tonight" Web site reported Saturday.

Other notable names in the fledgling band are Bob Guiney of "The Bachelor" fame and "Cashmere Mafia" actress Bonnie Somerville.

Grunberg, who places telepath Matt Parkman on the popular NBC series, said all profits from the DVD/CD album will benefit various charities.

"Having bandmates who also happen to be in some of the most popular shows on television creates an amazing opportunity to really reach out to our fans to help support these wonderful causes," he said.

The "ET" Web site said the album includes the amateur musicians covering 13 hits such as "Piece of My Heart" and "Mustang Sally."
