NEW YORK, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Charlotte d'Amboise is heading back to "Chicago" to reprise her previous role of Roxie Hart, representatives for the Broadway production said.

D'Amboise made her debut as Roxie in 1997 with the first national tour of the revival of "Chicago." For that performance, she earned the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, the Los Angeles Ovation Award and the Bay Area Theatre Circle Award.

Since then, she has played Roxie more than 2,000 times -- more than any other actress in the show's history -- on Broadway and on various national tours. She will return to the Broadway production Nov. 3.

"We're very excited to welcome Charlotte back to the show this November," producer Barry Weissler said in a statement. "Speaking on behalf of the entire 'Chicago' family, we always find that her energizing presence and unparalleled talent make her one of the best Roxies we've ever had. She is most definitely an audience favorite."

Last year, d'Amboise was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance as Cassie in the revival of "A Chorus Line." She earned her first Tony Award nomination in 1989 for her performance in "Jerome Robbins' Broadway."
