NASHVILLE, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Musical acts Trace Adkins and Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced plans to perform in both Pikeville, Ky., and Nashville this New Year's Eve.

The country music star and rock band will switch cities, which are in two different time zones, and performances, opening the show in one town and closing it down in the other, organizers said.

"For the past 12 years, we've been fortunate to have the biggest names in music celebrate New Year's Eve in Nashville," Steve Moore, senior vice president of AEG Live, said in a statement. "To add the dynamic of having them be in two cities on one night will be an even more exciting way to create the biggest party of the year."
