Lady Gaga to open for NKOTB

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. pop singer Lady Gaga has signed on to open for the sold-out New Kids on the Block reunion tour, Interscope announced.

This marks the New York native's first tour, the record label said.

She is to begin her stint with NKOTB in Los Angeles Wednesday and is to continue through the end of November.

Lady Gaga is best known for her summer hit "Just Dance," which has made the Top 10 in 14 countries. The singer-songwriter also performed the song in front of more than 1 billion viewers during "The Miss Universe Pageant" broadcast, Interscope said.

Her debut album, "The Fame," is scheduled to drop Oct. 28.
