CHICAGO, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Left-handed hitters should be in vogue when the Chicago Cubs take on the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday, Hollywood actor Bill Murray says.

The "Groundhog Day" star, who also is part-owner of several minor league baseball teams, said with the Cubs falling into a 0-2 playoff series hole against the Dodgers, Manager Lou Piniella should consider adjusting his lineup to better contend with Dodgers pitchers such as right-hander Derek Lowe, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

"I think they're going to try to win it a different way. Maybe some more left bats. Against Derek Lowe, only the left-handed hitters have a chance because of the way he pitches," Murray said.

Murray also dismissed the superstition the National League team was cursed in 1945 by Chicago tavern owner Billy Sianis, jokingly noting there have been several exorcisms conducted to end it.

"They keep breaking that curse. It should be done, over with," he told the Tribune, referring to past attempts to alleviate the superstition. "I've stopped blaming myself for a Cubs loss. That's a start. I'm am not taking responsibility for those losses."

The Cubs haven't won a world championship since 1908.
