NEW YORK, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- The body of Hollywood film icon Paul Newman has been cremated and a private funeral for him held, his longtime friend and business partner said.

"It's all over," A.E. Hotchner told the New York Post.

Newman died of cancer Friday night at the age of 83. He was best known for his acting roles in "Cool Hand Luke," "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," "The Hustler," "The Sting" and "Fort Apache, The Bronx," as well as for his charity work.

Hotchner told the Post that Newman's Own, the food company he and Newman ran together, has already given away $150 million and will donate another $26 million to "a wide variety of charities" next month.

Now that Newman is gone, Hotchner said he will most miss "the great fun we had -- the mischief."

"Everything we did was a lark," he said.
