LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis has agreed to guest star on the new U.S. sit-com "Worst Week," CBS announced Monday.

Dukakis is to play character Melanie's paternal grandmother, June Clayton, in an episode titled "The Ring."

"In the episode she gives Melanie and Sam her grandparents' wedding rings for their own nuptials," the network said in a news release. "Sam loses them and goes to great lengths to attempt to get them back before anyone finds out."

CBS said the episode is to air later this season.

"Worst Week" stars Kyle Bornheimer, Erinn Hayes, Nancy Lenehan and Kurtwood Smith.

Dukakis is best known for her roles in "Moonstruck," "Steel Magnolias," "Look Who's Talking" and "Picture Perfect."
