LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Actor Ted McGinley and comedian Jeffrey Ross were both booted off in the first week of the seventh season of the U.S. competition show "Dancing with the Stars."

McGinley and partner Inna Brayer were eliminated Wednesday while Ross and partner Edyta Sliwinska were knocked off Tuesday after just one dance.

"I'm going to miss everybody," McGinley said after receiving the bad news. "A lot of guys at home with a beer in their hands are having a little chuckle on me. I'm one of the guys."

Ross suffered a poke in the eye from Sliwinska that sent him to the emergency room with a scratched cornea Monday.

"What a nightmare! They said Edyta was going to be easy on the eyes!" E! Online quoted Ross as saying.

He later told Usmagazine.com he was "heartbroken" about being voted off the show.

"I really loved learning to dance. I was confident by the time we got to the routines," he said. "My family came from very far away to support me. 'My uncle said, 'No matter what happens, just keep going, and try to look confident ... .'"

Still in the running for the coveted mirrorball trophy are Lance Bass, Toni Braxton, Brooke Burke, Rocco DiSpirito, Maurice Greene, Kim Kardashian, Susan Lucci, Cloris Leachman, Cody Linley, Misty May-Treanor and Warren Sapp.
