PROVIDENCE, R.I., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- A musical stage production of the movie "Legally Blonde" is heading out on a U.S. tour.

The theater publication Playbill said the production from director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell was starting its tour Sunday at the Providence (R.I.) Performing Arts Center.

The production, which will run at the Rhode Island venue through next Sunday, stars actress Becky Gulsvig as the comedy's lead character, Elle Woods.
