NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- The upcoming NBC special "Letters to Santa -- A Muppets Christmas" will feature actress Uma Thurman and actor Jesse L. Martin, The Hollywood Reporter says.

The entertainment publication said Friday the "Kill Bill" actress will play Santa Claus's flight attendant in the holiday special, while the "Law & Order" actor will play a singing postal worker.

The TV special follows Kermit the Frog and other Muppet characters as they attempt to honor the holiday wishes of three children who wrote letters to Santa Claus.

The Muppets Productions special also has signed Whoopi Goldberg, Madison Pettis, Tony Sirico, Steve Schirripa and Richard Griffiths to appear in the show.

The NBC broadcast will feature music written by Paul Williams, who created melodies for "The Muppet Movie," the Reporter said.
