LONDON, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- The British pop group the Spice Girls won the prize for reunion of the year at the Vodafone Live Music Awards at the London rock venue Brixton Academy.

The Daily Telegraph said they beat out Led Zeppelin, the Verve and James for the honor.

The awards show featured performances by Glasvegas, The Automatic, Primal Scream, The Pussycat Dolls, Will Young and James Morrison.

Emma Bunton, who was the only Spice Girl present at the event, admitted she was "a bit shocked" to have won the award.

"We had a great time. So I just feel very lucky that I had the opportunity to do it again," the Telegraph quoted the performer formerly known as Baby Spice as saying. "The thing is, when you go to a gig, you go for fun and entertainment and a night out. And that's exactly what we did and I think that's why people enjoyed it so much."

Take That won the award for tour of the year, Kings of Leon the prize for best international live act, Mark Ronson the honor for best male live performance and Kate Nash the title of best female live performance, the newspaper said.
