Sci-Fi green lights 'Warehouse 13' series

NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- The Sci Fi Channel has announced it has OK'd production on the new original drama series "Warehouse 13," starring U.S. actor Eddie McClintock.

The network ordered 11 hours including the previously produced two-hour pilot, it was announced Friday by Mark Stern, executive vice president of original programming for Sci Fi & co-head of original content for Universal Cable Productions.

McClintock is best known for his work on "Bones," "My Boys" and "Desperate Housewives." Joanne Kelly and Saul Rubinek are to co-star alongside him in "Warehouse 13."

Production is slated to begin this February in Toronto for a planned July 2009 premiere.

"'Warehouse 13' is an exciting, imaginative, fun, adventure show with an amazing team that will continue to broaden our audience," Stern said in a statement. "It is a perfect companion series to 'Eureka,' which is a proven success and currently Sci Fi's most watched original series."
