NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- About 20 picketers from an anti-Scientology group demonstrated outside the theater where actress Katie Holmes was making her Broadway debut Thursday night.

Holmes, who is married to fervent Scientology follower Tom Cruise, is scheduled to appear in Arthur Miller's stage drama "All My Sons" through Jan. 11, 2009.

Usmagazine.com said members of the group Anonymous wore masks as they protested and yelled things like: "We are not boycotting Katie, we are not boycotting the play, we are protesting Scientology. It is evil. Scientology kills people. It follows you home at night. It is perverted."

"We are going to be there not only in protest of The Church of Scientology. We would love to see Katie Holmes get away from this evil cult before it's too late," a representative for Anonymous told Usmagazine.com before the demonstration took place.
