Smith to star in, produce TNT drama pilot

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Jada Pinkett Smith has signed on to star in and executive produce the drama pilot "Time Heals," TNT announced Thursday.

The real-life mother of two, who is married to actor Will Smith, can currently be seen in the big-screen comedy "The Women." Her other film credits include the "Matrix" trilogy, "Reign Over Me," "Ali," "Collateral" and "Menace II Society."

Pinkett Smith has signed on to play Director of Nursing Nancy Hawthorne, "an unsung hero, caregiver and single mother who always puts the pain of others first," the network said.

"Time Heals," which is set in North Carolina, comes to TNT from Sony Pictures Television in association with Pinkett Smith's 100 Percent Womon Productions, John Masius Productions and Jamie Tarses's FanFare Productions.

John Masius, who wrote the pilot, Pinkett Smith and Jamie Tarses serve as executive producers.
