NEW YORK, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Stage and TV actor Tom Wopat has signed on to headline the latest North American tour of the Broadway musical "Chicago," representatives for the show said.

Wopat, who will play media-savvy lawyer Billy Flynn, has starred in the recent Broadway productions of "A Catered Affair," "42nd Street" and "Annie Get Your Gun." He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Luke Duke on the 1980s U.S. television series "The Dukes of Hazzard."

Co-starring Bianca Marroquin, Terra C. MacLeod and Roz Ryan, the "Chicago" tour is to begin Nov. 11 in Charlotte, N.C. It is to make stops in Appleton, Wis.; Raleigh, N.C.; Boston, Mass.; Calgary, Alberta; Phoenix and San Jose, N.M.

Additional cities are expected to be announced soon, representatives for the show said.
