LOS ANGELES, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. actor George Clooney is recruiting noted colleagues to star in the movie "The Men Who Stare at Goats," The Hollywood Reporter said.

Clooney has been working his Smoke House partner, director Grant Heslov, on negotiations to bring actors Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges into the project, the entertainment publication said.

In the Heslov-directed film, McGregor would star as a reporter who begins investigating a man who claims to have been a psychic U.S. soldier. Clooney will play the mysterious soldier who travels through Iraq with the character tabbed for McGregor.

Oscar winner Spacey would play the head of an Iraqi prison camp, while Bridges has been chosen to play the founder of the mysterious military project.

The movie will be produced by Smoke House along with Paul Lister and Allison Owen, the Reporter said. BBC Films developed the screenplay and has a script from Peter Straughan.
