LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Denzel Washington is set to star in "Book of Eli," a big-screen drama directed by "From Hell" fraternal filmmakers Allen and Albert Hughes.
Variety.com said the "American Gangster," "Hurricane" and "Glory" actor is to play "a lone hero in a not-too-distant apocalyptic future who must fight across America to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption."
Washington is also producing the movie, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
The film is the Hughes brother's first film since "From Hell" was released in 2001.
