PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 23 (UPI) -- The facility in Pasadena, Calif., where the reality TV series "Celebrity Rehab" was filmed is being investigated by state officials, the show's host says.

Dr. Drew Pinsky, who served as the host of the VH1 series, said the inquiry into Aurora Las Encinas Hospital began after three patients at the site died and another allegedly was sexually assaulted there, ABC News reported Saturday.

Pinsky, who also offers his medical expertise to the radio and TV series "Love Line," has since downplayed his involvement with the facility.

"These were not my patients," he told ABC News regarding the California Department of Public Health inquiry.

"To associate me with these situations is really becoming an egregious problem."

The TV and radio personality, who treated only celebrity clients during the first season of "Rehab," also offered his condolences to the families of those unfortunate patients.

"I feel horrible for the families, and my heart goes out to the families and anyone else who loses their family to addiction," he told the news group.
