JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Four relatives of British actor Helena Bonham Carter were killed when a safari minibus overturned in South Africa.

The crash occurred Wednesday as the group was traveling from one game park to another in a remote district, The Times of London reported.

The dead included Brenda Bonham Carter, 74, and her husband, Francis Kirkwood, 75; grandson, Marcus Egerton-Warburton, 14; and daughter-in-law, Kay Boardman, 54. Fiona Bonham Carter, 51, a cousin of Helena Bonham Carter and Marcus's mother, survived as did her older son, Piers, 16, and Boardman's husband, Graham.

The driver lost control of the minibus after a tire went flat. Fiona Bonham-Carter and Piers were both injured and taken to a hospital in Johannesburg.
