NORWICH, England, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- A tour of Britain by the musical "Witches of Eastwick" begins in Norwich, England, this month, Playbill reports.

The theater magazine said Saturday the theater version of the 1987 movie and 1984 John Updike novel will premiere in Britain at the Norwich Theatre Royal for several performances before traveling throughout the United Kingdom.

Following the premiere Saturday, the musical tour officially starts Wednesday.

Nikolai Foster will direct the production on the heels of his success with a British tour of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Aspects of Love."

The production will follow the same plot as the movie and novel, following a mysterious man who arrives in a small town and begins a romance with three different women.

Playbill said pop star Marti Pellow covers the lead role performed by actor Jack Nicholson in the movie, while the lead female roles will be performed by Ria Jones, Rebecca Thornhill and Poppy Tierney.
