LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- New Kids on the Block star and actor Donnie Wahlberg and wife Kim Fey are divorcing after nine years of marriage, court documents show.
Both Wahlberg and Fey, both 39, sued for divorce Aug. 13 in documents filed with Los Angeles and Ventura county courts, The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. Fey reportedly cited "irreconcilable differences" and wants spousal support and attorneys fees from Wahlberg, whom she married in 1999.
A representative for Wahlberg told People magazine, "The couple has been separated for some time now and remain friends."
The couple have two sons ages 15 and 7, and Fey is suing for their sole physical custody, the newspaper said.
The news came as Wahlberg was preparing to go on tour with the New Kids on the Block "boy band" act for the first time in 15 years, the BBC reported. Donnie Wahlberg followed this brother Mark Wahlberg into acting after New Kids broke up, appearing in such television shows as "Band of Brothers" and "Boomtown."
