BRITNEY SPEARS DEBUTES HER NEW ALBUM "IN THE ZONE"

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. pop singer Britney Spears has piled up hundreds of thousands of dollars of legal bills in her child custody battle, court documents show.

For instance, attorney Stacy Phillips, who was on Spears' legal defense team for only a short while, has filed a declaration with the Los Angeles Superior Court saying Spears owes her $338,414 for $700-per-hour services rendered between March and June, E! Online reported Tuesday.

According to court documents, Phillips says her billing includes "time already deducted as a courtesy," time "written off" and $75,000 that she expects to get next month, the entertainment Web site reported. Phillips was dismissed after Spears' reinstated family lawyer Laura Wasser, who returned in time to help Spears obtain additional visitation privileges with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, E! online said.

Kevin Federline, Spears' ex-husband, still has sole physical and legal custody of the children.

Meanwhile, Wasser's latest calculations of her legal fees for a two-month period total $60,075, another filing shows.
