LONDON, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Celebrity British TV producer Simon Cowell says thanks to his $65 million-a-year paycheck, he has no problem spending nearly $9,400 on T-shirts.

The "American Idol" judge, who is paid nearly $47 million a year to appear on the hit FOX series, said he does not think twice about spending thousands of dollars during a routine shopping spree, the Daily Mail reported Saturday.

In fact, the "X Factor" judge admits to having no qualms spending early $1,900 on a pair of designer shoes or staying in hotels at a rate of nearly $5,600 a night.

"I don't have any conscience about this at all," he told the British newspaper.

The newspaper Cowell also owns a Rolls-Royce Phantom coupe estimated to be worth more than $745,000 and a Bugatti Veyron worth nearly $1.4 million.

The TV personality also doesn't defend his love for private jets, which he routinely uses for his overseas journeys.

"The champagne's better and you can smoke, which is a rare guilty pleasure at 36,000 feet these days," he told the Mail.
