LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Tina Fey will be seen acting opposite Steve Carell and Ricky Gervais -- the stars of the U.S. and U.K versions of "The Office" -- in two separate comedies.

Variety.com said Fey has signed on to co-star with Carell in "Date Night," a movie to begin production next year with "Night at the Museum" director Shawn Levy at the helm.

"I wanted to do a relatable, grounded character comedy about marriage and the lengths we go to preserve the spark," Levy told Daily Variety. "Tina and Steve are smart and relatable, and the tone of their comedy perfectly fits this film."

The exact start date of the film will be determined by when Carell and Fey's respective NBC sit-coms "The Office" and "30 Rock" go on hiatus, the entertainment industry trade paper said.

Fey also recently completed work on the film "This Side of the Truth," which Gervais co-wrote and co-directed and in which he co-stars.
