Kid Rock to perform on VMAs

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- U.S. recording artist Kid Rock is to perform his hit "All Summer Long" on the upcoming 2008 Video Music Awards show, MTV said Thursday.

Lil Wayne and the Jonas Brothers were previously announced as performers at the 25th annual event Sept. 7.

British comedian and actor Russell Brand is to serve as host of the awards ceremony.

Presenters and additional performers are to be announced at a later date, MTV said.

Rock made headlines when he and Tommy Lee got into a fight during last year's VMAs.
