CLAY AIKEN PERFORMS IN CONCERT IN FLORIDA

NEW YORK, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Pop star and new daddy Clay Aiken is set to reprise his role of Sir Robin in the Broadway musical, "Spamalot," the show's representatives said Wednesday.

Aiken will be back on stage at New York's Shubert Theatre Sept. 19 and is to stay with the show until Jan. 4, 2009.

The recording artist and former "American Idol" runner-up made his Broadway debut earlier this year in the Tony Award-winning musical, based on the big-screen comedy "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

"Since leaving 'Spamalot' in May, jokes have just not been funny. Food has lost its taste. The grass is no longer green -- the sky no longer blue. And, babies WON'T stop crying! I'm so excited about coming back to the funniest show in the world," Aiken said in a statement.

Aiken last week confirmed on his Web site that his "dear friend" Jaymes Foster had given birth to their first child, Parker Foster Aiken.
