LONDON, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- British disc jockey Raymond Paul has apologized for playing a song by jailed child molester Gary Glitter on the Cyprus radio station Rock FM 98.5.
The Daily Telegraph reported Paul apologized for offending his audience after he was flooded with complaints regarding his decision to play Glitter's "Hello, Hello, I'm Back Again" on the air.
The 1970s pop star is expected to be released next week from a Vietnamese prison where he has been serving a three-year sentence for molesting two 11-year-old girls.
Glitter, 64, previously served two months in jail in England for possession of child pornography in an unrelated case.
The Telegraph said many of the people who called to criticize Paul's playing of the Glitter song were Brits who live on Cyprus.
