NEW YORK, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Mary-Kate Olsen's lawyer says the U.S. actress has given information to investigators looking into Heath Ledger's death.

The New York Post this week quoted an unnamed source as saying that Olsen isn't cooperating with the investigation unless she is granted immunity from prosecution.

Ledger, an Australian film star, died of an accidental prescription drug overdose in January. He was 28.

Olsen's masseuse reportedly called her before dialing 911 to request help for Ledger, whom the masseuse is said to have found unresponsive at Ledger's Manhattan home.

"Despite tabloid speculation, Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them," attorney Michael C. Miller said in a statement issued to People magazine Monday. "Regarding the government's investigation, at Ms. Olsen's request, we have provided the government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger's death and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed. ... We don't know the source of the information being quoted in the media regarding the government's inquiry, but these descriptions are incomplete and inaccurate."
