LOS ANGELES, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Television personality Christopher Knight has signed on to be the host of "Trivial Pursuit: America Plays," the syndicated game show's producers said Tuesday.
Knight, who played Peter Brady on the classic TV sit-com "The Brady Bunch," has also starred on several reality TV shows.
Based on the popular board game, the new half-hour "Trivial Pursuit" show is to debut Sept. 22. The series' premiere is timed to coincide with the release of Hasbro's 25th anniversary edition of the game.
"I've always been a 'Trivial Pursuit' fan and I can really see TV audiences becoming obsessed with this addictive format," Knight said in a statement. "Once you start it's hard to stop and I think viewers' fascination with pop culture will keep them coming back for more. Or they can tune in and be bathed in my boyish enthusiasm."
Lisa Licht, Hasbro's General Manager of Entertainment and Licensing, added: "We are thrilled to have Chris Knight host 'Trivial Pursuit: America Plays.' We entrust him with leading the re-invention of Hasbro's most popular trivia game and introducing it in a brand new interactive format. His name is completely synonymous with the world of pop culture and we believe that he is a perfect fit for our brand."
