Lambert insists 'Idol' did not create him

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Publicists for Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal deny the U.S. movie stars, who have been dating for about a year, are now engaged.
Witherspoon, 32, was previously married to her "Cruel Intentions" co-star Ryan Phillippe. Now divorced, they are the parents of two children, ages 8 and 4.
Gyllenhaal, 27, who has never been married, has starred in the movies "Brokeback Mountain," "The Good Girl" and "Jarhead."
Representatives for Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal told People magazine exclusively that media reports stating the pair are planning to wed are "lies."
"They are not engaged, getting married or any of the reports," the publicists said.
