ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 2 (UPI) -- The cost of a basic adult ticket to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., is going up $4 to a total of $75, industry officials say.
International Theme Park Services President Dennis Speigel said while the ticket cost increases by Walt Disney were not substantial, they likely represented the last ticket price hike by Disney for awhile, The Orlando Sentinel reported Saturday.
"The difference between $74, $73, $75 -- there's not that much difference. Once you reach that level, you might as well go to $75," Speigel said. "But I think that puts their increases away at least for a couple of years."
Starting Sunday, not only will adults and children more than 10 years old pay an additional $4 a ticket, but children between the ages of 3 and 9 will also face higher ticket prices. The Sentinel said tickets for the younger visitors will increase by 5 percent to $63 a ticket.
Multiday packages offered by Disney are also facing similar increases, including the 10-day adult "Magic Your Way" tickets, which will now cost $237 each.
