Broadway revival of 'Brigadoon' postponed

NEW YORK, July 30 (UPI) -- The new Broadway production of Lerner and Loewe's musical "Brigadoon" has been postponed, representatives for the show said Wednesday.

Directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford, the musical had been scheduled to play in Boston this fall, prior to opening on Broadway.

Representatives for the production said it has been delayed due to the lack of availability of an appropriate Broadway theater in the spring of 2009.

A revised schedule for the production is expected to be announced at a later date.

The pre-Broadway engagement that had been scheduled to run in Boston from Oct. 21 through Nov. 16 at the Colonial Theatre has been canceled.
