"Amy Winehouse suffered a reaction to medication at home this evening and was taken to the hospital," her representative said. "Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released tomorrow."

Winehouse's father, Mitch, said last month the singer was diagnosed as being in the early stages of emphysema after she was taken to the hospital for tests, following a fainting spell at her London apartment.

The Grammy Award-winning recording artist has long battled an addiction to drugs.
