SAN DIEGO, July 26 (UPI) -- Director Guy Ritchie said at the San Diego International Comic-Con that his marriage to pop singer Madonna is not in trouble despite persistent rumors.

People magazine said Friday that the "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" director denied any problems in the celebrity marriage and credited the "Music" singer with allowing him a new viewpoint regarding his home town of London.

"I was born there and I've seen it change and I know a great deal about it, I'm invested," Ritchie said Thursday. "I live vicariously through my wife, so I was once a spy and now I've become a tourist, and it's much more fun to live in London as a tourist than it is as a spy."

"Someone told me the definition was a spy always looks for the bad stuff, and a tourist always looks for the good stuff. So that makes it easy, being married to an American."

People magazine said the 39-year-old director, who was promoting his new film "RocknRolla" at the San Diego convention, and his 49-year-old wife recently spent time together in New York.
