LOS ANGELES, July 26 (UPI) -- The hosts of the most popular U.S. reality TV series will be the co-hosts for this year's Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, the show's producers say.
Emmy Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich said in addition to competing for best reality host honors, Ryan Seacrest of "American Idol," Jeff Probst of "Survivor," Tom Bergeron of "Dancing with the Stars, Howie Mandel of "Deal or No Deal" and Heidi Klum of "Project Runway" will host the annual event, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.
"When we saw the nominees (in the category), they turned out to be such a perfect group of people," Ehrlich said of the popular TV hosts.
The five hosts have agreed to share hosting duties at the Sept. 21 event at Los Angeles's Nokia Theater and Ehrlich said it should be a rare treat for all involved.
"This gives us the opportunity to be very contemporary and current on a show where we also will celebrate the history of the TV academy and the history of television," he told the Reporter of the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards. "It's the best of both worlds."
