LOS ANGELES, July 26 (UPI) -- Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production company is asking for pitches for a potential movie based on old "The Twilight Zone" TV series.
DeCaprio's group is looking to team with Warner Bros. on the project, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.
"The Twilight Zone" previously spawned a feature film based on series episodes 25 years ago, but the new movie would not be a remake of that version.
Warner Bros. is negotiating with the estate of Rod Serling, who wrote several episodes during the series' initial 1959-1964 run.
Among the episodes written by Serling were "Eye of the Beholder," which focused on a society where attractive people were seen as ugly, and "To Serve Man," an episode about carnivorous aliens.
The Reporter said DiCaprio has said in several interviews that the science-fiction series is his favorite TV show.
