The Dark Knight film premiere in New York City

BUFORD, Ga., July 20 (UPI) -- Georgia's only IMAX theater showing of the hit Batman movie "The Dark Knight" was ruined when the extra-wide-screen projector broke down, attendees say.

Batman fan Jared Osterhage told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the machine at the Mall of Georgia theater in Buford overheated, forcing the Saturday cancellation at the only IMAX theater showing the blockbuster movie in the state.

Osterhage, who said he drove 36 miles from Newnan, Ga., was disappointed he was only given a pass for a future screening.

"They're doing nothing to reimburse people who drove all the way here," Osterhage said. "Just to give us a rain check? If we don't come back, we've paid $45 plus gas for nothing."
