Sacramento's Mayor Heather Fargo declares today to be "The Jonas Brothers" day in Sacramento

LOS ANGELES, July 19 (UPI) -- Singer Joe Jonas of the popular music group The Jonas Brothers, has graduated high school, his older brother Kevin announced in Los Angeles.

The elder Jonas broke the news during a Friday taping of the MTV series "FNMTV" that his 18-year-old brother successfully completed his high school education Thursday, People magazine reported.

"A big congratulations to Joe," the 20-year-old singer said. "He just graduated from high school. It happened yesterday so it's a big deal."

The high school graduate did warn that he had yet to officially hear from his school. "But I'm officially done with the work," he told his assembled fans.

The Jonas Brothers, which also includes brother Nick, is to perform its hits such as "Mandy" and Burnin' Up" at the MTV Video Music Awards this September, People said.
