LOS ANGELES, July 19 (UPI) -- "The L Word," a TV series that follows the lives of several lesbians, will soon have a spin-off series, an official from the U.S. network Showtime says.

Robert Greenblatt, Showtime's president of entertainment, said Friday the cable TV drama will spawn a second show to be headed up by "Word" creator Ilene Chaiken, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Greenblatt said one actress featured in "Word" will be the focal point of the new series, but he refused to identify which star would receive her own series.

"We're still forming it. I'm sure I have a million e-mails already from loyal viewers about it, but we're still in the process of figuring it out," he said.

The Reporter said Greenblatt also announced the Showtime original series "Weeds" has received an order for two additional 13-episode seasons and the network series "Penn & Teller: Bullshit!" has been picked up for a seventh season.
