LOS ANGELES, July 18 (UPI) -- Famed pop singer Jo Stafford has died of congestive heart failure in her Century City, Calif., home, her family said. She was 90.
Stafford -- who performed with Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Frankie Laine, Gordon MacRae, Johnny Mercer, Dick Haymes, Tommy Dorsey and the Pied Pipers during her storied career -- had more than 70 songs as a solo artist on the pop charts between 1944 and 1954, the Washington Post said.
Stafford's family told the newspaper she retired in the mid-1960s and focused on charity work because she no longer regarded the music industry as "fun."
Among her biggest hits were the pop ballads "You Belong to Me," "Make Love to Me," "Autumn Leaves," "All the Things You Are" and "I'll Be Seeing You."
She also recorded several novelty songs, including "Temptation," "Shrimp Boats" and "Jambalaya," and was a popular guest on TV variety shows throughout the 1950s.
The Coalinga, Calif., native and her husband, Paul Weston, recorded several albums under the names Jonathan and Darlene Edwards, poking fun at untalented entertainers.
"Jonathan and Darlene in Paris" won the 1960 Grammy Award for best comedy recording.
Stafford was previously married to Pied Piper member John Huddleston. Weston died in 1996.
Stafford is survived by her children with Weston -- Tim Weston of Topanga, Calif., and Amy Wells of Calabasas, Calif., as well as a sister and four grandchildren.
Lawyer: Spears, Federline reach settlement
LOS ANGELES, July 18 (UPI) -- Kevin Federline's lawyer says Federline and his ex-wife, U.S. pop singer Britney Spears, have reached a settlement in their child custody battle.
The former couple have two toddler-age sons -- Sean Preston and Jayden James -- together.

Who members 'at each other's throats'
NEW YORK, July 18 (UPI) -- British rock icons Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey are bickering ahead of their upcoming reunion tour with The Who, a source says.
"There is a lot of tension and fighting going on right now. Roger is furious with Pete. Pete has been writing all this new material and wants to perform the new stuff, but Roger wants to stick with 'My Generation,' 'Won't Get Fooled Again,' 'Pinball Wizard' and other classics," an insider told the New York Post.
The Who broke up in 1983 but a few recent reunion concerts showed there is tremendous interest in the iconic rock band, so a tour was planned, for which the group reportedly was paid $100 million.
Townshend and Daltrey, the surviving members of The Who, have allegedly told tour operators they want separate travel arrangements and accommodations, as well as dressing rooms on opposite ends of the hallway at the venues they play. They also insisted they not be made to talk to each other before or after performances, the source told the Post.
"They will basically show up, play, and leave," the insider said. "They're at each other's throats right now. But considering how much money is on the line, there's 100 million reasons why they need to do this."
Garber denies he broke Garner baby news
LOS ANGELES, July 18 (UPI) -- Canadian actor Victor Garber is denying he told a magazine that his former "Alias" co-star, Jennifer Garner, is pregnant with her second child.
Usmagazine.com quoted Garber as saying, "Yes, she is," when asked if Garner and her husband, actor Ben Affleck, are expecting a sibling for their 2-year-old daughter, Violet.
Usmagazine.com quoted another source as saying, "(Garner) is five months pregnant. They are very happy."
Rumors about Garner's alleged second pregnancy have been swirling for weeks, mainly due to Garner's and Affleck's recent comments about wanting to expand their family.
Adding fuel to the speculation is the fact Garner has been photographed wearing loose-fitting clothes this summer.
Garber told E! News that Usmagazine.com took his words out of context.
"I haven't confirmed that at all, no," Garber told E! News. "I know they want to have another child and hopefully that's true, but I don't know that. ... No, I know that they are hoping to be. I just don't know that it's for sure. It's a very... personal thing."
