The Washington Post (NYSE:WPO) said the 65-year-old newsman is expected to give up his positions as Washington managing editor and "Special Report" anchor at the end of the year.

However, Hume is also said to be negotiating a deal to work about 100 days a year as a senior political analyst, panelist on "Fox News Sunday" and possible substitute host when Chris Wallace is out.

It is unclear whether "Special Report" will continue with a new anchor after Hume leaves, and, if so, who might take over Hume's chair, sources told the Post.
