Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook at Divorce Trial in New York

NEW YORK, July 13 (UPI) -- Christie Brinkley's ex-husband, Peter Cook, says he does not regret marrying the supermodel despite their acrimonious New York divorce.

The 49-year-old former male model said that while certain details revealed during the recent divorce proceedings were troubling, he still does not regret being married to Brinkley for 10 years, the New York Post reported Sunday.

"I'll never regret marrying her. We had a great time for 10 years. I've got two beautiful children," Cook said Saturday.

Among the lurid details unearthed during the bitter divorce proceedings were allegations of infidelity by Cook during his marriage to the former Cover Girl model.

The divorce proceedings ended when Brinkley agreed to a $2.1 million settlement and Cook told the New York Daily News he is ready to put the matter behind him.

"My only option is to be healthy, happy and prosperous," he said. "If I'm not, how's that good for the kids?"

The Daily News noted the former couple has a 10-year-old daughter, Sailor Lee, and had been raising Brinkley's son, Jack, together.
