LOS ANGELES, July 9 (UPI) -- U.S. actresses Nancy Travis and Lola Glaudini have joined the cast of the big-screen thriller "Intent," producers at New Castle Entertainment said Wednesday.

Travis can now be seen in "The Bill Engvall Show." She previously co-starred in the sit-com "Becker" and the films "Chaplin" and "Internal Affairs."

Andrew McCarthy will play her character's husband and kidnapping victim, David McDowell, in "Intent."

"Nancy's very gracious and sincere. We couldn't be happier," "Intent" produce Allen Cohen said in a statement.

Glaudini has appeared in more than a dozen movies, such as "Blow" and "Invincible," and more than 20 television series, including "Criminal Minds" and "The Sopranos."

She will play the wife of police detective Mark Gordon in "Intent."

"Lola has been at the top of our wish list since ever since I finished writing the screenplay. We're delighted to have her on board," said screenwriter Tim Crockett.

Described as a combination of "Silence of the Lambs" and "CSI," "Intent" begins with a kidnapping in a suburban neighborhood and leads police on a manhunt "that comes full circle," the filmmakers said.

Shooting on the movie is to begin in Michigan in September, New Castle Entertainment said.
