VIENNA, Va., July 8 (UPI) -- Characters from the animated Hollywood films "Cars," "The Lion King" and "The Little Mermaid" will be featured in a new Disney On Ice show, producers said.

The cast of new fairies from the Oct. 28 DVD and Blu-ray release of "Walt Disney Pictures Tinker Bell" is also to appear in a segment of Feld Entertainment's "Disney On Ice Presents Worlds of Fantasy" when it begins its 70-city, two-year tour in August.

One of the highlights of the show, Feld Entertainment revealed, will be when audiences enter the world of Pixie Hollow as the entire ice floor transforms "into springtime."

For the tour's first nine cities, "Worlds of Fantasy" will be performed before "Tinker Bell" is released in the United States, serving as a sneak preview for the film.

"Audiences will get to meet the fairies live for the first time ever as we open the door to this mystical fairy world deep in the heart of Never Land and unveil the secrets that lie within," producer Nicole Feld said in a statement.

The show will also include a segment starring life-size versions of "Cars" characters like Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater. Featuring state-of-the-art, custom animatronics, the characters' eyes and mouths will move as they make their way around the ice, Feld Entertainment said.
